Extractions

Some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed; others may have disease, or have broken in a way that cannot be repaired. Other teeth may need removal because they are positioned poorly in the mouth and could lead to other problems.

Avoiding Other Problems

A single missing tooth could lead to jaw and joint problems, could shift your teeth, and have an overall major impact to your oral health. Our dentists will discuss with you alternatives to extractions as well as replacement of the extracted tooth.

Pain Management

When most patients hear extractions they often get nervous thinking about "pain." Depending on the severity of the extraction we offer a wide range of pain management. Some use our nitrous oxide "laughing gas", others need a more serious pain solution, we will offer what we think is best to make sure your procedure is comfortable.

The Process

Our process is simple, we first numb the area using a strong anesthetic. This numbs the nerves and will assure no part of the procedure other than pressure will be felt. If you feel any pain we can continue to numb the area. We then extract the tooth. Once the tooth is extracted we have you bite on gauze to stop the bleeding. Lastly we treat the pain and provide ice packs to keep the swelling down.
